Well, I have to give it to Aimee's kid, I am not so good about keeping up with this blog, but I've been taking notes along the way.

Today was the first day of my big trip! I love Amsterdam! There is no doubt I am going to move here!! The people are so friendly and I really feel at home! I did a lot of walking today. Some of it on purpose. I get lost here because everything looks the same. Guess I will learn it better when I live here....
I went to this place Begijnhof where single women who did good deeds, but were not nuns lived. I asked if that's still the case - the guard said mostly single women still live there, but now riff raff live there, too.
My hostel is very nice by Amsterdam standards. There is a great bar downstairs where I watched America lose (in the World Cup) and looked up stuff in my travel books. I also went to this really original craft fair. The guy running it gave me a poster for free. I think I'll get it framed when I get back home.
